The CNEE sets base tariffs by seasonal year, the current one runs from May 1, 2026 to 30 April 2027, and adjusts them each quarter in line with the distributors' actual energy purchase costs. The adjustment quarters are February–April, May–July, August–October and November–January. The final bill adds the municipal street-lighting levy, which varies by municipality, and the adjustments for the INDE contribution.
