Installed capacity of the power system

3,559.2 MW

2024MEM/INE

The official installed capacity of the national grid by technology (2025) is in MEM's Indicative Generation System Expansion Plan 2026-2050 (PEIG), but mem.gob.gt blocked the automated download and the figure was not confirmed in a primary source; the press (Republica GT) mentions an 'effective capacity close to 3,400 MW'. The 2025 wholesale market unit costs, main and secondary tolls, RRO and capacity deviations in US$/kW-month, appear on p. 7 of the AMM 2025 Statistical Report.
