In Amatitlán, manufacturing is the main activity, concentrated along the CA-9 between km 24 and 28: vehicle assembly, maquilas, dyes/paints/colorants, fuel processing, textiles, beverages and a power plant (secondary source). Parks: the Zeta La Unión Industrial Park and Free Zone (km 30.5) and La Ceiba Industrial Park (km 28.5), detailed in dossier 07. The Chamber of Commerce documents an 'industrial boom' in the municipality.
