According to the 'National Total' row (as of 30 June) of the statistics institute's (INE) post-census municipal XLSX for 2015-2030, Guatemala had 17,843,132 inhabitants in 2024 and 18,079,810 in 2025 (+1.3%); 16,346,950 in 2018 and a projected 19,201,062 for 2030. Warning: a figure of 19,702,431 inhabitants for 2024 circulates (Wikipedia citing 'INE projections 2010-2050', 2019); it comes from a pre-census series that does not reconcile with the post-census tables and should not be used. INE publishes national projections for 1950-2050, departmental for 2010-2050 and municipal for 2015-2035.
