US$3,658 million
2025USDAUSDA's Exporter Guide 2026 (April 30, 2026, calendar-year 2025 data) calls Guatemala Central America's horticultural hub with nearly 19 million people. Imports of consumer-oriented products were 3,658 million dollars in 2025; the United States supplies 30 % of agricultural trade and since January 1, 2025 nearly all its consumer and industrial goods, except white corn, enter duty-free under CAFTA-DR. Food retail sales reached 11 billion dollars in 2025 (the report adds "over 33 percent from 2024", a rate that does not square with the 9.7 billion for 2024 the same post published in its Retail Foods Annual 2025), with three dominant chains (Walmart Mexico and Central America, Unisuper, Pricesmart) and only 30 % of food sales through supermarkets. The processed-food industry reached 6.2 billion and is projected to grow 8.6 % a year to 14.1 billion by 2035; the HRI channel (hotels, restaurants, institutions) was 5.1 billion, 4.5–5 % of GDP. The report cites total exports of 15.5 billion (+6.5 %; Banguat's official figure, as reported by Prensa Libre, is US$15,587.4 million, +7.1 % on US$14,556 million in 2024), record remittances of 25.5 billion (+18.7 %, 21 % of GDP), 3.3 million tourists (+11 %) and a GDP of 121.1 billion growing 4.3 %; the fastest-growing imports are food preparations (217 million), poultry meat (212), pork (148) and dairy (133).
