According to Statistical Bulletin ENEIC No. 1 from the National Statistics Institute (INE), with April–June 2025 as its reference period, the working-age population (15 and over) is 12,531,809; the economically active population (PEA) totals 8,217,059; the employed population, 8,036,086; and the openly unemployed population, 180,973. These are survey estimates with 95% confidence intervals: the PEA, for example, falls between 8,132,307 and 8,301,811, and open unemployment between 163,109 and 198,837.
