INE's series shows a working-age population of 11.8 million (2021), 11.9 million (2022), 11.4 million (2023, measured by ENCOVI) and 12.0 million (2024); the employed went from 7.2 to 7.0, 6.6 and 7.7 million over the same years. As a secondary contrast, the World Bank (ILO model, indicator SL.TLF.TOTL.IN) estimates the total labor force at 7,519,217 in 2024 and 7,684,762 in 2025, below the economically active population of 8.2 million that ENEIC reports for Q2 2025. The difference stems from different methodologies (national survey versus international model) and must be made explicit when citing.

The research is written in English; quoted figures, source names and the titles of legal instruments stay in the language their source published them in.

This layer is research: read from public sources by the archive's own team, every claim cited with the date it was consulted, and audited where it is marked so. It has not entered the verified store — no figure here was fetched back from its source or stamped with a retrieval time — so it wears no red provenance numeral and never mixes with the verified figures.
