According to Statistical Bulletin ENEIC No. 1 from the National Statistics Institute (INE), with April–June 2025 as its reference period, the working-age population (15 and over) is 12,531,809; the economically active population (PEA) totals 8,217,059; the employed population, 8,036,086; and the openly unemployed population, 180,973. These are survey estimates with 95% confidence intervals: the PEA, for example, falls between 8,132,307 and 8,301,811, and open unemployment between 163,109 and 198,837. The derived rates (participation, unemployment, informality, underemployment) already form part of the verified file as eneic_* indicators; these absolute figures from the 2025 bulletin remain pending verification.

This layer is research: read from public sources by the archive's own team, every claim cited with the date it was consulted, and audited where it is marked so. It has not entered the verified store — no figure here was fetched back from its source or stamped with a retrieval time — so it wears no red provenance numeral and never mixes with the verified figures.
