Overtime is paid with a minimum premium of 50% over ordinary wages (Labor Code, article 121, per PeersLegal's summary). Because the legal night shift is 6 hours (36 a week), running three continuous 8-hour shifts does not fit within ordinary working hours: the dossier infers that a 24/7 plant needs four crews or takes on overtime pay for the night shift, a structural cost that matters for maquila and manufacturing. That implication is an editorial inference from the rules, not a citable fact; the premium and the shift limits must be confirmed against the official text of the Code.
