AGEXPORT attributes more than US$730 million a year in foreign exchange to the Contact Center & BPO sector (2025, sector website, seen through indexed results because the site returns a 403 on direct access). In 2016 and 2017 the sector's exports stalled at US$750 million, with an estimated US$50 million lost to regional competitors (AGEXPORT Hoy, January 2018). These are trade-association figures: the central bank (Banguat) publishes the aggregate services balance (the file's trade_balance_services_usd indicator) with no call center breakdown, so there is no official BPO export series and the distinction must always be made when citing.

The research is written in English; quoted figures, source names and the titles of legal instruments stay in the language their source published them in.

This layer is research: read from public sources by the archive's own team, every claim cited with the date it was consulted, and audited where it is marked so. It has not entered the verified store — no figure here was fetched back from its source or stamped with a retrieval time — so it wears no red provenance numeral and never mixes with the verified figures.
