Three official instruments exist: the Land Use Capacity Map (USDA methodology adjusted to the country's soil, climate and topo-physiographic patterns) on the IGN geoportal; the Taxonomic Soil Classification, a first approximation at 1:250,000 scale, produced by MAGA with PAFG and INAB; and INAB's methodology for classifying land by use capacity, relevant because it governs changes in forest land use. The 1:250,000 scale serves regional screening, not a decision on a particular plot: an investor needs its own farm-level soil study.
