Are there M&A cases or foreign capital entries in export vegetables and berries?

On the snow pea and vegetable chain, AGEXPORT's committee page says the sector has more than 30 years of experience and that more than 70,000 families in 200 rural communities depend directly on it. According to the same page, 85 percent of national production of French beans, peas and mini vegetables is concentrated in Chimaltenango, Sacatepéquez and Sololá, and an estimated 11,000 hectares are planted with peas. On May 16, 2022, Emergent Cold Latin America announced the acquisition of Bodegas Frías, which it described as Guatemala's largest third-party cold storage operator, and presented it as its entry into the country. According to the release, Bodegas Frías was founded in 2006 and runs three facilities (Palín, Villa Nueva and Quetzaltenango) with almost 20,000 pallet positions. Outside vegetables and berries, Fyffes announced on 13 October 2025 an agreement to sell its melon business, farms in Guatemala included, to Martori Farms, according to its site.
