What is Costa Rica's 2026 minimum wage and how does it compare with Guatemala?

Costa Rica sets ₡373,092.30 a month for the generic unskilled worker (it has no separate maquila category), ≈US$734 at ₡508.64/US$ (our own conversion), under Decree 45303-MTSS in force since 1 January 2026 (+1.63%). It is the highest minimum in the regional comparison: about 55% above the Guatemalan maquila minimum with the bonus (≈US$475).
