Liztex. According to its website, it is located at Parques del Lago, Km. 30.5 Carretera al Pacífico, Amatitlán, and its main markets are the United States, Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean, and South America. Its EMIS profile lists it as Compania Industrial Liztex S.A., headquartered in Amatitlán, with activities in preparation and spinning of textile fibres, yarn manufacturing and fabric manufacturing, founded on 07 September 1973. According to an exhibitor review of the Apparel Sourcing Show published by Textiles Panamericanos (30 August 2017), its processes include spinning, woven and knit weaving, finishing (mechanical and chemical) and softening, and it manufactured around 2 million meters a month. At that show it displayed fabrics for shirting, curtains, corduroy, flannel, gabardine, denim, terry towels, table linen, poplin, bed sheets, satin, interlock, piqué, jersey, mini jacquards and Expandex; the review adds that it has been certified by Cotton USA, Usterized, BCI, Lenzing and Compliance, among others. A CommonShare News article (26 October 2015) said Liztex produces over 2.5 million yards a month of woven and knit fabric from the Amatitlán factory, employs 2,500 local workers and sells one third of its production to the local market. That article says Alberto Habie Mishaan and Jose Habie established what is now Liztex in 1956 and that by 1973 they started exporting textiles to the U.S.
