According to the industry association, yes. In an interview published by FASH455 / Sheng Lu (30 August 2025), Karin De León, VESTEX's investment and promotion director, said Guatemala offers a highly integrated apparel cluster covering every stage of the supply chain, from spinning yarn and weaving fabrics to apparel manufacturing, printing, finishing and packaging (the full-package model). She also said that since the pandemic in 2020 the country has attracted new foreign investment and supported the expansion of companies already established there, particularly in the spinning industry; that installed capacity is primarily focused on cotton, although blends are also produced; and that at the end of 2024 apparel exported to the U.S. was 62.8% cotton, 36.4% synthetics and 0.8% wool. According to AGEXPORT Hoy (18 August 2026), the apparel and textile ecosystem currently brings together 275 exporting companies, and AGEXPORT president Francisco Ralda highlighted that Guatemala offers an industrial ecosystem covering yarn, fabrics, design, dyeing, finishing, accessories, labels, machinery, technology, logistics and specialised talent. Prensa Libre (Jul 23, 2022) reported, citing Vestex, that recent investment has focused on textiles and spinning; its vice-president, Alejandro Ceballos, explained that this investment has gone into textiles rather than garment assembly. The synthetic yarn plant of United Textiles of America (Unitexa) was being built in Honduras. La Prensa of Honduras (31 January 2017) placed it in Choloma, Cortés, reported the ceremony to officially start its construction and, in a photo caption, identified business people from Honduras, Korea, El Salvador, Guatemala, Spain and Brazil as those who set up the company; its director, Juan Carlos Zighelboim, said the plant will produce raw material that "will stay in Honduras, El Salvador and Guatemala" and that the big sports brands, such as Adidas and Nike, can buy it. Textiles Panamericanos (Jul 26, 2018) published, in an interview by Mike Todaro (AAPN) with Jesús Canahauti, general manager of Elcatex, a Honduras-based company, that once opened the $73 million plant would have a production capacity of more than 25,000 tonnes a year; Canahauti said that as part of Elcatex they were building the plant and that several of the region's largest textile groups had joined forces to create it.
