The Chile–Central America FTA is a framework treaty with bilateral protocols that took effect at different times. For Guatemala the bilateral protocol has applied since 23 March 2010 (Costa Rica 14 February 2002, El Salvador Jun 1, 2002, Honduras Jul 19, 2008, Nicaragua 19 October 2012). It covers goods, services, investment, intellectual property and dispute settlement, according to Chile's SUBREI. The OAS's SICE records the signature of the framework treaty on 18 October 1999.
