Chronic child malnutrition (stunting) in Guatemala
- Macroeconomy, ratings and risk
- Sovereign rating and country risk
- not audited
About 46% of children under 5 suffer chronic malnutrition according to the World Bank (Guatemala Overview, 2024); the 2024 JME estimate (UNICEF/WHO/World Bank, SH.STA.STNT.ME.ZS) gives 44.6%, against 53.2% in 2000. It is one of the highest rates in the world. The ~47% figure used historically corresponds to earlier vintages (ENSMI 2014-15: 46.5%) and is still to be verified against ENSMI/SESAN in the data phase.
The research is written in English; quoted figures, source names and the titles of legal instruments stay in the language their source published them in.

This layer is research: read from public sources by the archive's own team, every claim cited with the date it was consulted, and audited where it is marked so. It has not entered the verified store — no figure here was fetched back from its source or stamped with a retrieval time — so it wears no red provenance numeral and never mixes with the verified figures.
