Yazaki, the country's largest auto parts manufacturer, opened its plant 1 in Ayutla, San Marcos, in February 2023 with an initial investment of about US$10 million; it now employs 850–1,000 people making wire harnesses for Ford (Prensa Libre). Plant 2 in Pajapita, San Marcos, involves US$250 million, 35,000 m², up to 3,500 jobs and harnesses for the Ford F-150, with start-up scheduled for September 2027 (Yazaki North America); the audit of 19 August 2026 verified these plant 2 figures with no changes. It operates in its own development zone under ZOLIC. Plastics and packaging is a real subsector but has no consolidated public figures; it remains to be researched with the plastics trade association and the industry chamber (CIG).

This layer is research: read from public sources by the archive's own team, every claim cited with the date it was consulted, and audited where it is marked so. It has not entered the verified store — no figure here was fetched back from its source or stamped with a retrieval time — so it wears no red provenance numeral and never mixes with the verified figures.
