The apparel and textile sector exported US$1,891 million in 2025 according to AGEXPORT Hoy; of that total, garments alone came to US$1,543 million (Prensa Libre with Banguat data). The maquila line fell 4.6% in 2025 against 2024, some US$73 million less. The 2024 figure (US$1,932.96 million) that circulated in the first pass was flagged for verification: the AGEXPORT URL cited contains only the 2025 figure, and the audit of 19 August 2026 did not find the source of the 2024 figure. The sector accounts for roughly a fifth of manufacturing exports.
