Honduras' free-zone regimes (ZOLI, ZIP, RIT): firms and jobs
- Guatemala against the region

- Audited
Honduras operates ZOLI (1976), RIT and ZIP: multi-sector free zones with around 39 zones, some 500 companies and about 150,000 jobs, according to the Honduran Maquiladores Association (April 2024). Benefits: income-tax exemption on the profits of companies established in a zone, import duty (DAI) on raw materials, inputs and machinery, municipal taxes (ZIP administrators: 10 years) and sales tax (ISV) for renewable energy; the exact terms must be verified against the text of the law (La Gaceta is not indexed). The figure of ‘374 companies with an income-tax benefit’ does not appear in the source and was withdrawn. Risk: 2022 press reported an attempt to abolish 10 tax-privilege regimes — final outcome to be confirmed.

This layer is research: read from public sources by the archive's own team, every claim cited with the date it was consulted, and audited where it is marked so. It has not entered the verified store — no figure here was fetched back from its source or stamped with a retrieval time — so it wears no red provenance numeral and never mixes with the verified figures.
