Net FDI inflows (World Bank, BoP, current US$) for 2022 / 2023 / 2024, and FDI as a share of GDP in 2024: Guatemala 1,450 / 1,650 / 1,848 M (1.6%); Costa Rica 5,212 / 5,299 / 5,403 M (5.6%); El Salvador 26 / 778 / 1,051 M (3.0%); Honduras 758 / 578 / 478 M (1.3%); Nicaragua 1,287 / 1,114 / 1,352 M (6.9%); Dominican Republic 4,050 / 4,751 / 4,476 M (3.6%); Mexico 39,206 / 30,683 / 45,475 M (2.5%). The uncomfortable reading: Guatemala grows three years running and still takes in a third of Costa Rica's total (1,848/5,403 = 34%) and about 41% of the Dominican Republic's, with an economy of equal or greater size; on FDI as a share of GDP it beats only Honduras. UNCTAD: FDI into Latin America fell 12% in 2024 to US$164,000 M (the country annex is blocked; to be cross-checked in the data phase). The Banguat figure for 2025 is US$1,881.7 M preliminary (dossier 11).

The research is written in English; quoted figures, source names and the titles of legal instruments stay in the language their source published them in.

This layer is research: read from public sources by the archive's own team, every claim cited with the date it was consulted, and audited where it is marked so. It has not entered the verified store — no figure here was fetched back from its source or stamped with a retrieval time — so it wears no red provenance numeral and never mixes with the verified figures.
