Banrural is a Guatemalan mixed-capital bank, created out of the 1997 transformation of BANDESA. With US$15,782.2 million in assets as of December 2024 it is the region's number three according to Revista E&N, and Moody's Local GT puts its share of local market assets at ~22%, with 3.5 million customers and the country's largest rural branch network. It channels lines from the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (BCIE) to agriculture and micro, small and medium-sized firms (US$37.6 million in 2025), and its franchise is remittance distribution.
