The IGM lists the rentista (a person living on independent means) or pensioner as a route to permanent residency: permanent monthly income from abroad of at least US$1,250, plus US$300 for each dependant; no guarantor is required; income must be re-evidenced every 5 years. The one-off cost is US$400, plus the US$25 application fee and the general documents. This classification as permanent still has to be checked against arts. 75–84 of the Migration Code.

The research is written in English; quoted figures, source names and the titles of legal instruments stay in the language their source published them in.

This layer is research: read from public sources by the archive's own team, every claim cited with the date it was consulted, and audited where it is marked so. It has not entered the verified store — no figure here was fetched back from its source or stamped with a retrieval time — so it wears no red provenance numeral and never mixes with the verified figures.
