Banguat projects an FDI inflow of more than US$2,065 million for 2026, according to IberoNews (article of 16 July 2026 citing Banguat and Invest Guatemala); it is a projection, not a datum, and the official document behind it has yet to be located on banguat.gob.gt. Two press headlines on the trend could not be verified: Diario de Centro América states that FDI grew 120.9% over six years and Prensa Libre that it grew 11.8% in the first half of 2026; both articles returned HTTP 403 and must be checked against the Banguat series before being used. The series that can be verified today is 2024: US$1,729.4 million and 2025p: US$1,881.7 million (+8.8%).

The research is written in English; quoted figures, source names and the titles of legal instruments stay in the language their source published them in.

This layer is research: read from public sources by the archive's own team, every claim cited with the date it was consulted, and audited where it is marked so. It has not entered the verified store — no figure here was fetched back from its source or stamped with a retrieval time — so it wears no red provenance numeral and never mixes with the verified figures.
