Cementos Progreso is the outward FDI case (Guatemala as the source country) that the dossier collects: in March 2022 it bought Cemex's operations in Costa Rica and El Salvador for US$335 million; in 2021 it built a plant in Belize for US$8.2 million and entered Colombia; in August 2024 it acquired an operation in the Dominican Republic whose operations it took over in January 2025. Cemex's exit from Costa Rica and El Salvador by selling to a Guatemalan group is also a story of a multinational retreating from the sub-region. All of this comes from Wikipedia.
