Guatemala ratified the framework for the customs union with Honduras in 2016 and implementation began in 2017; El Salvador opened accession negotiations that same year. SIECA runs the 'Deep Integration: El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras' platform and the Economic Intelligence Observatory with regional statistics. The general legal framework — the General Treaty on Central American Economic Integration, the Guatemala Protocol and others — is published by MINECO. The operational detail (the exact start date, reported in the press as 26 June 2017; the FYDUCA as a single tax document; the share of bilateral trade covered; the integrated peripheral customs posts; El Salvador's formal progress) was not verified with a primary source, so no figures are recorded.

The research is written in English; quoted figures, source names and the titles of legal instruments stay in the language their source published them in.

This layer is research: read from public sources by the archive's own team, every claim cited with the date it was consulted, and audited where it is marked so. It has not entered the verified store — no figure here was fetched back from its source or stamped with a retrieval time — so it wears no red provenance numeral and never mixes with the verified figures.
