Revised Kyoto Convention (WCO): Guatemala's accession on 10 March 2022

According to the World Customs Organization's official position on ratifications and accessions to the International Convention on the Simplification and Harmonization of Customs Procedures (the 1973 Kyoto Convention as amended in 1999, the 'Revised Kyoto Convention'), as of 22 February 2024 and republished by SAT in its international agreements section, Guatemala deposited its instrument of accession on 10 March 2022. In the region, the Dominican Republic did so on 28 June 2012 and El Salvador on 6 November 2023. Accession binds the country to the General Annex standards (clearance procedures, risk-based customs control, use of information technology, appeals) and is the framework SAT invokes in its National Action Plan on release times and in customs modernization.
