ZOLIC reports ZDEEPs in Escuintla, San Marcos, Zacapa and Izabal. A February 2024 snapshot places 3 zones in Escuintla and 5 in Izabal among the most advanced. Only 7 ZDEEPs were identified by name: Puerta del Istmo, Michatoya Pacífico, Zona Libre Quetzal, Puma 1, Miel Verde, NUMA A-1 and Santander; the names of some 13 of the remaining 20-23 registered are missing, including the Izabal ZDEEPs other than Santander. The PDFs from the Ministry of Public Finance (MINFIN, 2019 transparency) and PRONACOM (November 2020) carrying the listing could not be extracted and must be downloaded in the data phase.

The research is written in English; quoted figures, source names and the titles of legal instruments stay in the language their source published them in.
