The counts vary with the date and the definition. In May 2022 Prensa Libre reported 4 ZDEEPs operating (Puma 1, Miel Verde, Puerta del Istmo, Michatoya Pacífico), 6 in process and 2 under evaluation, US$100 M invested in infrastructure, a projection of US$2,000 M once 12 are approved, and 2,570 jobs in the operating zones. In February 2024 there were 22 registered ZDEEPs: 5 fully operating, 9 awaiting enablement by the tax authority (SAT) and 9 awaiting Board approval; 8 with ZOLIC clearance projected 2,707 direct and 6,034 indirect jobs, with a total estimated value of US$1,900 M. In September 2025 Prensa Libre counted 3 ZDEEPs 'operating and open to clients' (Puerta del Istmo, Michatoya Pacífico, Zona Libre Quetzal), with more than 5 million m² of combined industrial space and more than 5,000 direct and indirect jobs. The counts do not reconcile with one another because single-user zones such as Puma 1 and Miel Verde operate but are not open to clients; the data phase must ask ZOLIC for the official register with authorization and enablement dates by zone.
