Rail freight: network control and projects
- Infrastructure and logistics
- Ports, cargo and corridors
- not audited
There has been no regular rail freight service for years. FEGUA (Ferrocarriles de Guatemala), the autonomous state entity created by Decree 22-69, promotes the revival of the railway and safeguards its assets. Ferrovías Guatemala, linked to Railroad Development Corporation (RDC, United States), is the only lawful usufructuary of the railway assets under Contract 402. The declared projects are the Mexico–Guatemala rail interconnection (a link to Mexico's Isthmus corridor) and the Puerto Quetzal–Santa Lucía Cotzumalguapa rehabilitation ('Tren Bicentenario', with a state share of profits); the dossier records neither a schedule nor an investment amount.

This layer is research: read from public sources by the archive's own team, every claim cited with the date it was consulted, and audited where it is marked so. It has not entered the verified store — no figure here was fetched back from its source or stamped with a retrieval time — so it wears no red provenance numeral and never mixes with the verified figures.
