Tourist/traveler status (Migration Code, article 74) allows up to 90 days, extendable 'only once' for a further 90 (180 maximum). The extension is processed at the Foreigners Sub-Directorate (6a avenida 3-11, zona 4, level 2) with proof of a US$25 payment and official form PVT-IGM-01-2025. The claim that the days are counted jointly across the CA-4 (Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua) comes from guides and from the IOM, and was not found in an official Guatemalan source. The dossier's reading: most foreign investors operate on a tourist visa plus extension, or as a migrant worker of their own company.

The research is written in English; quoted figures, source names and the titles of legal instruments stay in the language their source published them in.

This layer is research: read from public sources by the archive's own team, every claim cited with the date it was consulted, and audited where it is marked so. It has not entered the verified store — no figure here was fetched back from its source or stamped with a retrieval time — so it wears no red provenance numeral and never mixes with the verified figures.
