Three official instruments exist: the Land Use Capacity Map (USDA methodology adjusted to the country's soil, climate and topo-physiographic patterns) on the IGN geoportal; the Taxonomic Soil Classification, a first approximation at 1:250,000 scale, produced by MAGA with PAFG and INAB, which identifies 7 of the world's 12 soil orders; and INAB's methodology for classifying land by use capacity, relevant because it governs changes in forest land use. The 1:250,000 scale serves regional screening, not a decision on a particular plot: an investor needs its own farm-level soil study.

The research is written in English; quoted figures, source names and the titles of legal instruments stay in the language their source published them in.

This layer is research: read from public sources by the archive's own team, every claim cited with the date it was consulted, and audited where it is marked so. It has not entered the verified store — no figure here was fetched back from its source or stamped with a retrieval time — so it wears no red provenance numeral and never mixes with the verified figures.
