Mango enters the United States after hot-water treatment at packing plants certified by PIPAA inspectors (the temperature and time parameters do not appear in the source cited and should be taken from the APHIS/PIPAA work plan). Guatemala has ~11,000 ha of mango, of which ~2,500 export; the industry target is to reach 7,000-8,000 export hectares by 2030 (a tripling); the United States absorbs ≈95% of exports, in the March-April window between the end of Peru's season and the start of Mexico's. Projects under way: releasing areas from hot-water treatment, and irradiation protocols at destination. The figure of a '~3% share of the US market' does not appear in the source and was withdrawn.

The research is written in English; quoted figures, source names and the titles of legal instruments stay in the language their source published them in.

This layer is research: read from public sources by the archive's own team, every claim cited with the date it was consulted, and audited where it is marked so. It has not entered the verified store — no figure here was fetched back from its source or stamped with a retrieval time — so it wears no red provenance numeral and never mixes with the verified figures.
