Title IV, Chapter I of the Labor Code (Decree 1441) governs farm workers (laborers, farmhands, day-wage workers, cattle hands and crew workers): recruiters must be paid a fixed salary and recruitment premiums are prohibited; workers are entitled to housing; and strikes are subject to special rules during the harvest season. The specific articles on seasonal contracts and work crews remain to be transcribed with their article numbers from the official text, and the rules on hiring internal migrants (crews moving from the highlands to the south coast) and on Ministry of Labor (MINTRAB) inspection at harvest are still to be documented.

The research is written in English; quoted figures, source names and the titles of legal instruments stay in the language their source published them in.

This layer is research: read from public sources by the archive's own team, every claim cited with the date it was consulted, and audited where it is marked so. It has not entered the verified store — no figure here was fetched back from its source or stamped with a retrieval time — so it wears no red provenance numeral and never mixes with the verified figures.
