On 10 June 2024 the Fifth Chamber of the Administrative Litigation Court definitively suspended the contract; APM continues to operate while the registry cancellations are completed. APM Terminals has begun arbitration against Guatemala over the TCQ case; the forum and case number are not confirmed. Between 2025 and 2026 EPQ invited foreign companies to bid for container handling and is preparing the terminal's transition 'before 2027' through an international public tender; in the meantime it signed a lease and services agreement with APM under indirect management to avoid a disruption of service.
